Wednesday 9/24/14

Welcome back to another exciting edition of Wednesday LifeTeen Link of the Week! Unfortunately, Tim can’t join us today because of an unfortunate incident involving a bowl of macaroni, three feral cats, a green line trolley, and a guitar (don’t believe anything he tells you about a “vacation” or being “really busy with school” or whatever other nonsense excuse he comes up with) so I’ll be posting alone.

Today’s link comes from an old friend. At least, I think he’d be an old friend, if I ever met him personally. He’s a really cool guy though. I’ve seen him a couple times, but it was tough to get his attention… he’s kind of a big deal. He’s a good cook, and used to be quite the tango dancer. He went to school to be a scientist, and worked for a while as a bouncer, but now makes his career in public ministry. He owned a Harley for a bit, but he got rid of it a little while back.

He’s also got a killer Twitter handle.

That’s right, I’m talking about @Pontifex, our beloved Supreme Pontiff, Bishop of Rome, and Jesuit extraordinaire, Pope Francis.

Now, I know what many of you are thinking. You’re thinking I don’t use twitter because I don’t “get it” and I don’t really know how it works, and I still don’t know what the right verb for using twitter is (Twitting? Twittering? Blowing up the tweet machine?). Well, you’re right. Still, that doesn’t stop me from appreciating the awesome wisdom of our earthly shepherd in bite size 140-character posts.

Pope Francis updates his twitter account every couple of days, and the results are never disappointing. Here are some of my favorites.
